Mr John Lau served his article ship with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. (now known as KPMG) and while there qualified as a Certified Public Accountant. Subsequent to his qualification, he joined Arthur Young & Co. (now known as Ernst & Young) as their audit manager in charge of the Kuching office in Sarawak.

During the period he was with the two international firms of chartered accountants, he was engaged in all the essential aspects of the accountancy profession. He was in charge of audits of public and private companies and was also involved in accountancy, taxation, secretarial and consultancy work.

Subsequent to his employment with Arthur Young & Co., Mr John Lau joined a major English newspaper group as finance manager and was promoted to the position of general manager of the finance and administration department before starting his own practice.

He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and an Associate of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia.

Ms. Caren Lee joined JB Lau. as an Audit Associate upon her graduation with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2012. In 2016, she qualified as a Chartered Accountant and became a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

Throughout her more than 12 years of service with JB Lau, Ms. Caren has been extensively involved in the audit of small and medium-sized private entities across a diverse range of industries, including agriculture, construction, property development, investment holding, manufacturing, services, hotel management, and trading.

In 2025, she was appointed as an Audit Partner of the firm after obtaining her Approved Company Auditor licence, continuing her commitment to uphold professional excellence and audit quality.

Ms. Daphne Chong holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman and brings with her more than 15 years of experience in external auditing. She began her professional journey in 2006 as an Audit Associate with RK & Associates. In 2010, she joined JB Lau as an Audit Supervisor and subsequently rose to the position of Senior Audit Manager.

Over the years, Ms. Daphne has accumulated extensive experience across a broad spectrum of industries, including trading, manufacturing, property development, construction, legal services, Joint Management Bodies (JMBs), Management Corporations (MCs), and other commercial sectors.

Siti Khairiah is a Chartered Accountant registered with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and an ASEAN CPA. With over six years of service at the firm, she currently serves as an Audit Team Leader, overseeing statutory audits and financial reporting engagements across various industries.

Committed to audit quality and integrity, Ms. Siti is also pursuing a Master’s degree in Forensic Accounting to deepen her expertise in fraud investigation and forensic analysis.
